Hi! I just got my call today to the Portugal Porto mission! I go into the MTC on August 11th. If you have any advice for me (especially from sisters regarding what i should bring!) or if you're going too, e-mail me! Obrigada!

Elders and Sisters, Para bems!! Congratulations on your call to the most wonderful country in all of Europe. I served my mission in 1984-1987. My family was there for three years while my father served as the mission President. There was only one mission then. I served my own mission under my father and finished up in Porto. I taught Portuguese in the MTC as well as culture classes. I would be more than happy to speak to any of you if you would like to give me a call. My phone number is (801) 756-0567 Boa sorte!!!!(good luck) Natalie Ficklin Holliday

Cool. I returned from the Porto mission last Christmas eve. I would love to talk to you guys about it. Simply put, it does not get any better than this!

I served between the time of May 93-95

I would like to talk and catch up on the latest news of the mission, let me know what is up.

I loved the country and the people I now have the biggest saudades of the lifestyle.

Ay there people! Today, i got my call to this place called Porto, Portugal and will be leaving in Febuary 2000 for the MTC. I think its cool that im going there. I traveled to Spain (Barcelona) last year for a month but I know its different than that side of the Yucatan. Last year, i also traveled to Brasil for 2 months and picked up some portugese so I hope that does help me in learning this language. Sometimes, I think I know too many languages other than english... Well- if anyone has the urge to email me about anything neat I need to know- then please do so! Muita Obrigada Tchau THAD

-- Thad Taylor (tayla13@hotmail.com), November 05, 1999.

Sorry guys- i got mixed up there and wrote Yucatan instead of IBERIAN. Sorry again... im not heading to Mexico... but to Portugal. Tchau

This is so amazing!! I njust got my call today to the Porto Portugal mission. I am so excited. My cousin got sent to the Lisbon mission and has already come back. I guess he is one source of information for me but I would appreciate hearing from anyone about what the mission and missions in general are like. I enter the MTC March 8 so I have a little while until I go. I am so excited. Portugal is awesome! Ben Jarvis

It just so happens that the Porto Mission has a great Mission President there right now - it happens to be my brother, Steve Sims, who, along with his wife, Cathi, and their four children, Pace, Andrew, Elizabeth, and Adam, should help to make your experience a great one! Best of luck.

I enter the MTC in June. I am very interested in learing about customs, history, anything about the mission. Please contact me if you can share any of your knowledge or expertise.

I just received my call to the Porto, Portugal mission as well! I can't wait to get there! I am a little apprehensive about Portugal since I have never spoken with anyone who has actually been there. Any information about anything would be much appreciated!

Hey, I got my call to the Lisbon, Portugal mission July 17th and I leave in November. For any of you returned sistahs, I'd like any info on what kinds of clothes to buy and where to shop. I have looked everywhere, and I have found nothing. I don't leave for 10 weeks, so I still got some time, but please e-mail any info and in the subject line write PORTUGAL otherwise the e-mail will be deleted into my junk box. How's the weather and the climate over there? Any info that any of you returned missionaries have would be great! Thanks!

Hey! just opened my mission call to Porto, go into the mtc on February 26th 2003, anyone who has any interesting info email me!

-- Jeremy Stoker (Jeremysif@hotmail.com), November 08, 2002.

The best place in the world. You have to work hard to have success. The Catholic church has a great stronghold but 90 % arent active. It can be cold in Guarda or it can be hot. The people are great. Savor every minute of your time there. Prepare to taste food. They actually cook over there not like we do here. Have fun and work hard. I served in Leiria, Braga, Villa Real, Coimbra, Valladares,
