I have some nice 6.5KW diesels if you are interested. They have been selling briskly.

Onan delivery is at least 10-16 weeks. Lister-Petter is 12+ weeks. Honda is sold our for the year on most models. Generac is close to sold out for the year on most models. I noticed that the local Home Depot had a "out of stock due to Y2K" sign up this last weekend. They had two unknown brands of generators and one generac.

I hope that I don't need my generator. But Dick Mills and I are betting on dirty and inconsistent power at the least. If my generator and UPS setup keeps my data processing facilities from getting fried (even if its only two days), it will be worth it. Constant power spikes are pretty hard on surge protectors. Dirty power has a pretty good chance of burning up critical components in monitors and CPUs.

Leimomi, although I have read various complaints about Coleman generators, thought you might be interested in the following. Y2kclassifieds.com includes a bulk buyers "monthly special" based on reader survey response; for May, the monthly special is a Coleman ER 5000 watt genset for $599.00 plus $25.00 shipping. Y2k classifieds states that the orders will be immediately processed (not placed on back order).

I do not receive any type of profit from this Y2k classifieds info or from Coleman; I am passing this on since you have specifically requested it and others may find it useful.

LINK Y2K Bulk Buyers Club - http://www.y2kclassifieds.com/buyers.htm

"well with just about 7 1/2 months to go if you mention the word generator to any dealer they laugh and giggle at you.

"Almost every dealer that originally dropped a bid on the Coleman ER 5000 Watt Generator pulled their bid out as the prices and availability of any decent generator is severely back ordered or the price has been inflated beyond reality.

"So we went Coleman Direct and managed to squirm a small quantity of of the ER 5000 Gens from a dealer that Coleman themselves found for us. The catch is that we have to make one single payment out to them so Y2K Classifieds will handle and be responsible for the transaction Coleman will directly handle the warranty so any one wanting one of these is completely protected.

"Its been a couple of weeks since the original pledges came in from folks wanting these so if any of you still want one email me and let me know and ill put you in to the billing engine the final price is $599.00 plus $25.00 Shipping We are dealing directly with the vendor and I have said this before but I want to stress it again that remember we are making a whole $15.00 on each of these units for are troubles so profit gaining is clearly not our intention here.

"Also there will be no back order on these and you will receive your Coleman ER 5000 Watt Generator with in a few weeks from payment."
