Norwest Mortgage "Prepared"

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

The following "Important Messages" was on my last Mortgage statement/payment coupon:

"Preparing for the Year 2000: As of December 31, 1998, Norwest Mortgage had met it's goal of correcting and testing all critical systems. We will continue our Year 2000 efforts throughout 1999, further testing and correcting non-critical systems, while working toward our goal of no visible effect on customers, clients or shareholders. We anticipate no interruption in service as a result of our Year 2000 efforts. For more information, visit http://www.norwest.com."

Any comments?

Good news. Sad that it is the exception rather than the rule.

Norwest sucks..there're not Y1k compliant...so believe if you wish whatever there PR dept. is saying.

Norwest is perfect example of company that has expanded beyond any logistical control of their operations. They're a nighmare to deal with.
