San Diego Union-Tribune profiles an AZ family's preps

On Sunday, the San Diego Union-Tribune had an article in section A about the Y2K preps of a family in Arizona. It's online here: Arizona family would rather be safe than sorry

Note: some navigation is necessary -

You'll need to click on the NEWS item on the left , then scroll down to the bottom of the NEWS sction and click on More News Inside..., then (at last) click on the Arizona family would rather be safe than sorry item.

Opening paragraphs:

MESA, Ariz. -- Henry and Sue Ann Sanders don't expect the world to collapse come Jan. 1, but they're storing Israeli-style gas masks in their kitchen pantry.

Just in case.

Y2K could prove a yawner, but the Sanderses and their two teen-age boys are building a gas-driven power plant in their suburban back yard.

Seems smart to be prepared.

Life will likely go on as we know it, but the Sanderses want to tour Yosemite, Yellowstone and other wonders this summer while they say they still can.

You never know.

"We don't know what's going to happen," says Sue Ann Sanders. "I think it's really up in the air..."
