Manual For SandBagging A Home?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Hey all, we is starting to sandbag our home. Heard a talk from Doctor Gary North where he talked about home defense in y2k and how useful sandbags are for establishing defensive perimeter. So I bought a couple truckloads and we've been bagging the house up. My question is is there a manual for how best to sandbag a home? We've got the home pretty well surrounded now but I worries that we may not have it right. It is especailly hard to construct the defense to allow for easy egress or defensive fire. Also it would be helpful to know how to deal with neighbors (pysch warfare), they all see our sandbagged home now and so know we are prepared for y2k and have food and such. We need to keep them away.

Thanks so much and may Jesus Christ bless you with many prayers answered and rishes.

Chuck, don't have a manual but we're doing the same thing. So I have some tips.

1) Make sure you are protected from the AIR as well as the GROUND. Remember that choppers will be employed by agents of the New World Order come Y2K. They'll swoop right down your chimmney if you are not careful. So get some anti-aircraft capability and sandbag it for defense.

2) Neighbors. Just let them know none of their beeswax. Make sure they know you're armed and ready to shoot to kill. That'll keep them away, at least until starvation really hits. But then you'll be in the position of strength.

3) Watch out for foreigners. Klinton is bringing in foreign troops to keep order in Y2K. So if you hear a foreign accent, shoot first and ask questions later.

Good luck Fellow Patriot!

Remember to get the right kind of bags. They need to be filled with heavy sand. This gives better bullet protection. Also consider getting some anti-personnel mines and sprinkle them outside sandbag barrier. Very effective.

-- Misol Mavich (misol@ibm.com), May 19, 1999.

Sandbags won't help you when Klinton brings in the heavily armed NWO troops. Already there is a divison of Chinese being trained in Alabama we hear. Also Klinton is bringing in 300,000 Albanians as "refuges" to serve as storm troopers when it comes time to take our guns away. The Bible predicted all this. Jan 1 2000 is The Day, as written in the Bible.

So I suggest you don't completely rely on sandbags. Get barbed wire too, and any kind of explosive mine. (There are good internet manuals for building these). Also think about building a moat, if you have the extra land. Fill it with crocodiles or pirranha. Got to think creatively. Only six months left!

Here are a few companies that sell sandbags. These are from my online book "PREPARE: Hundreds of Sources for Survival Preparations" located at my website and free for download. Breedon Bag and Burlap Company

Troll alert, troll alert: this is another ridiculous attempt by a morphing Forum disrupter to supply himself foolish fodder for Y2K prep ridicule. The idiocy is transparent. Go play somewhere else.

BTW, do you know that lies, deception, and treachery are noticed by God and seriously impair your soul's path to ascension and liberation? You are hurting yourself more than you can imagine.

This is a great thread! Nice to see people taking practical steps for home defense!

You might want to check Florida Disaster Office. Sandbags are often used for flooding and hurricane prep. So same techniques apply.

Best wishes and May God Bless You.

When you pile your sandbags make sure you leave notches that allow you to shoot through. This way you can shoot without exposing your body to return fire.

Our church is sponserng a y2k home defense teaching next Sunday. Fellow Christians will be gathering from all over to discuss weaponry and defense/offense strategies. Y2k is a great chance to spread the faith. I'll bring up your question and see what I can find out. Kings 3:16.

Sandbagging a roof? Better check the allowable loading first.

These houses will really be conspicuous. Something to think about.

Relax Leska. Looks like a parody to me, not lies or deceit. I laughed pretty hard reading this stuff, and you got to admit, given all the right-wing Christian loonies on this board, that it is healthy to deflate their sermons occasionally.

Careful CT.

Youre a regular poster now over at De-Bunky, and now youre using words like "right-wing Christian loonies" on this forum. If youre not careful BD and Andy will drop by and make you sit on the naughty- chair with poor Mr Decker. [g]

Seriously though, "troll" posting or not, its getting harder to tell. Its very refreshing though to see that some of the regulars who DO have some intelligent things to say are beginning to speak out against the extremism, whether parody or not. Who knows, maybe one day soon there may be some constructive discussion between the two camps IN FORUM (as opposed to in private mail, where it happens now).

Wow, I didn't know I had made the "naughty chair." I am not sure if I should take the original post seriously. Well, here's some food for thought about fixed position defense:

Wow, got popcorn?

Very entertaining and 'novel' thread.

Please do not do this. That is PERIOD. I was going the same thing, Live in the hills of California, Had several loads of sand haulled up here. Had my sand bags four feet tall, slots for firing thru, then those California Drug guys showed up, shot the whole place up, not only ruined my sand bags, but shot out the ply wood on my windows. You probably saw the coverage on CNN. Once again I say, do not do this. This turned out to be my worse nightmare.

Sorry that this happen to you Sorrylot. Didn't you think you'd attract a lot of attention with the sand bags and the boarded up windows. Don't know about some people. Is there more to this story.

What about the storekeepers and homeowners in St. Peterberg, Chicago and South Central L.A. who set up a perimeter and defended their property by force of arms during the riots? Their stores and homes were saved. Stores and homes around them were looted and burned by the hundreds. Were those homeowners and shopkeepers "extremists?" More to the point, did the big brave policemen step in to protect them? Yes? How many days later? I'd rather be "extremely" alive than unobtrusively dead, shot full of holes or beaten to death by a criminal mob.

Dano----Couldn't agree with you more on your above post. Story about St Peterberg. A large trailer camp with a main enterance during the rioting. Two "old" guys sat out at the front of the park with a 22 rifle. Not a singlr rioter ventured inside. Nothing was damaged. The rioters just passed by.

Do consider the economics of sandbagging. It is often cheaper to sandbag a small perimeter around the curtilage and then sandbag a narrow walkway to the mailbox as opposed to extending the perimeter to include the mailbox. This involves higher mathematics and also risk analysis of allowing the mailman access to a primary or secondary perimeter.

Variations on this theme, sandbag a crawlway to the mailbox. Or, buy from Acme fashions a sandbag suit. You'll need this anyway for mowing the grass outside the perimeter.

With regard to air attacks, you can avoid the roof loading problem by employing a domed stacking method. Caution: Does not work well in earthquake prone areas or places subject to rain. If you live somewhere that it rains, then consider the Acme Sandbag hat.

LMAO here. Pretty funny. However, there is a serious side to sandbags. There is a manual for sandbagging for flood protection.

WO13r1n3,

Seems there is another CT here, twern't me. I am haveing gobs of fun over at De Bunker. I may have even run cpr off, he hasn't posted once today. Trolls can dish it out but can't take it

HeHeHeHeHe. Garden mix in a bag. Sand and Soil. Remember compost is not very bullet-proof. And by the way, a .45 auto round will penetrate through 5 layers of 3/4 in plywood laminated together. A simple Concrete bunker will be the most prudent thing to do. Your garden may need the sand at some point and you may run out. Concrete trucks are still runnin' for fair money. 1 grand's worth of concrete will set you for life...hehehe. Back Trolls, Back. Let's call the Trolls the Gargoyles and We can Have Diane Squire as our Queen . I'll vote for that.

Sandbags are easy - very common sense. A couple of layers on top of your living quarters and around the perimeter. One-layer wall outside the entry-way. Schrapnel is easy to stop. Concussion is tougher, but you play the odds that you won't suffer a direct hit. Good luck.

P.S.

For real.

-- Clyde (clydeblalock@hotmail.com), May 20, 1999.

If you stack sandbags up so that they are leaning against your house, and the sandbags are of sufficient thickness to be effective, please do not be surprised when the walls of your house eventually start to sag and then collapse. Sand is heavy. Wet sand is heavier.

on the other hand, it's nice to see that the trolls have such a poor grasp of the topic...I find that encouraging when one looks at prospects in the long term.
