Community outreach: sponsorships, alliances, etc.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Y2K Media Room : One Thread

Have you seen any bridges being built, alliances being formed community, around Y2K? (I.E., neighborhood watch, computer user group, neighborhood or merchant associations, religious centers, nonprofits, elected officials or civic organizations.) Do you cover them?

Has your reportage helped or hindered any of this?

Have you co-sponsored any event (town halls, Y2K fairs, "community conversations," preparedness days, block parties, etc.)?

Do you have an auditorium, lunch room, or conference hall, the public might use for a Y2K event?

Does your news outlet prefer to remain independent of the community it serves, or does it have any community programs (Fourth of July, Christmas, schools, etc.)? Can it serve a civic function and remain impartial?
