CNBC Says Bank Analyst Cautions on Foreign Y2K Exposure: Anyone Have More Info?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I've heard a couple of references to this on CNBC this morning. Can anyone flesh this out? By the way, I think this is not a reference to today's WSJ blurb about y2k affecting the creditworthiness of loan applicants who have failed to remediate.

Just heard a more detailed report on CNBC: Credit Suisse First Boston downgraded CitiGroup, Chase Manhattan, JP Morgan and Bank One from hold to sell. They downgraded Bank Boston from buy to hold.

I was surprised to see a downgrade to a sell. You hardly ever see that. Sell recommendations are practically taboo on Wall St.

The longer this all goes on, the happier I am that I started getting ready and taking action when I did. There's plenty of food in the basement, and now I don't feel so bad about watching the market going up for the last 6 months while I wasn't in it.

Mike....you're right. It wasn't a question of if....it was a question of

when
