Is this movement part of the faith or an addition to it?

I would like to know when the catholic charismatic movement > was founded, There is no true, founding date. The movement is credited as having started at the so-called "Duquesne Weekend" in 1967, with a bunch of college students, but in actuality it sprung up all over the world at the same time.

> what pope approved it and in what > document. There have been many pastoral statements by Pope John Paul II and Pope Paul VI spoke to the leaders in the renewal at their gathering in Rome in 1975, but, other than the formation of the International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services office http://www.garg.com/ccc/publications/ICCRS.html. However, the "International Catholic Fraternity of Charismatic Covenant Communities" were formally established in November of 1990. See: http://www.garg.com/ccc/articles/iccrs/smith.002.html

The Charismatic Movement of the Catholic Church started in a cenacle where men placed their focus on prayer and contemplation of Christ Jesus, with the aid of Mary - Mother of God, who they had in their midst to guide them to her Son. The fruit of this Marian retreat was an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. While my makeup is more suited to a contemplative prayer style, the Pope has often reminded us that ALL Catholics must be charismatic - open to the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

The Charismatic Movement started at "Pentecostes" with Peter, the apostles, Mother Mary and the other woman and disciples. Joined in the first speech given by Peter to all the people reunited (pagans and jews). This is the first time the Holly Spirit spread his wings over all the people. From there uptoday the work of the H.S. has not deceased. He's working on Catholic movements, pentecostals churches, protestants and catholics are experiencing the joy of the free gifts. In fact any people who opens their heart to Jesus Christ and pry in group (2 or more) imploring for Holy Spirit in the Name of Jesus Christ will start to live a new life with faith and "Charismas" will come later "per se". We need to bring this joy of faith and real experience to our catholic priests, bishops, religious, family and friends to show them how God works in our hearts and learn to live fully of the H.S. to become saint to His eyes.

Jesus knew that His work on earth could never be done by human striving, however determined the effort. Power to be His witnesses could only come through the Spirit of God(1:8).So before He left the disciples, He told them to wait for "the promise of the Father," for they would "be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days hence"(1:4- 5).In fact they were instructed not to leave Jerusalem until they had received this promised heavenly endowment(Luke 24:49).Anticipating the outpouring, even as He authorized their mission, Jesus breathed on the disciples and said,"Receive ye the Holy Spirit"(John 20:22).
