"Mabus" (1) then will soon die, there will come Of people and beasts a horrible rout (2): Then suddenly one will see vengeance, Hundred (3), hand, thirst (2), hunger (2) when the comet (4) will run.

The later would signal Revelations 8(1): "1When he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour"... and the start of the Third Secret of Fatima or perhaps the 'Secret of the Thirds' - Revelations; Chapters 8 and 9. And, ss told to me from a Catholic friend that Sister Lucy told CArdinal Ratzinger that Revelations Chapt 8-13 would become relevant soon.

Chapter 8:

1When he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. 2And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were given seven trumpets. 3Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. Chapter 9:

1The fifth angel sounded his trumpet, and I saw a star that had fallen from the sky to the earth. The star was given the key to the shaft of the Abyss. 2When he opened the Abyss, smoke rose from it like the smoke from a gigantic furnace. The sun and sky were darkened by the smoke from the Abyss. 3And out of the smoke locusts came down upon the earth and were given power like that of scorpions of the earth. 4They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads. 5They were not given power to kill them, but only to torture them for five months. And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes a man. 6During those days men will seek death, but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them. 7The locusts looked like horses prepared for battle. ...These random thoughts indicate the formation of a "Mabus" Alliance in the Balkans; the seventh seal may be declaration of war from the G8 countries - Russia dropping out to make them G'7'; the launch of an intercontinental missile on the 45 N latitute...

I think I'd rather listen to her than Nostradamus whose quatrains can be put in context to just about every century previous, depending on who is trying to place them to make their point. Ellen

Hamlet is talking about his own death, but he might as well be talking about the end of the world. No-one knows the day or the hour except God. I simply don't understand why people just accept and concentrate on their "readiness" instead of wasting precious time trying to predict the Second Coming when there are much more important things to do.

For goodness' sake Philip, please try and do something constructive with your life.

Great Answer, Matthew!

However, I would like to speculate about the end of the world myself, and to hear the opinion of you friends out there.

I have studied astronomy and biology to the point of not believing in a near-to-come end of the World. When you compare the 2000 years of Redemption with astronomical and biological numbers, you come to see that 2000 years is near to nothing. From human kind appearence (from 70,000 to 1 million years, depending on the scientist) to Redemption, it was a long time. I cant4t believe the second coming may be so "hasty" considering all these numbers. Besides, great parts of the world have never heard the Christ4s message yet. So, in my humble opinion, I think it would be nonsense for God to create the Human Kind, wait at least tens of thousands of years to give Redemption, and then "hastilly" come to the secont coming... I think the world will not end in many thousands of years, to say the least... In my opinion, the History of redemption is only beginning...

I owe Philip an apology...

He sent me an email justifying his research, but unfortunately I lost it. I'm doing this from memory, but I'd be grateful if Philip could clarify his position.

Ignorance of prophecy is not a good thing. They may seem preposterous, but that fact that some people believe them(and more seriously, attempt to fulfil them) means that those of who don't have to make some effort to get into their mindset. I think Philip's reply to me emphasised the need to indulge in this sort of thing because it might actually anticipate the behaviour of some extremist groups. I never considered that studying Nostrodamus could actually assist counter-terrorist organisations.

As I said, I'm paraphrasing Philip's position from memory... maybe he should post the mail he sent to me on here. What I don't understand is why he just dumped a load of speculation on this site without any explanation or justification. The responses would have been a lot more reasonable if he had done so.

I must confess to not liking statements like "Russia has developed a anti-stealth system" being left hanging in the air, as if everyone thinks this is a bad thing(It smacks of sick "God's own country" nationalism to me).

[This was bound to happen, and it isn't actually that difficult in theory... all you need are three high-intensity microwave radars that are capable of three-dimensional imaging, and you just look for areas that don't reflect anything. A stealth aircraft is the airborne equivalent of a cosmic black hole; both are "invisible", but very easy to detect]
