Best f stop of Leitz Focotar 100m/m

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Printing & Finishing : One Thread

I would like to know if there is anyone that can answer this question: Wich is the best f stop of the Focotat 100m/m ? I know the best f stop of the 60mm, but not that of the 100m/m. Can you help me, please ? I'm using the f8 with good results, but I dont know if this one gives me the better rendition. Thank you. Fabio Fantazzini Brasil.

Um... you could do some tests. Film flatness and enlarger alignment are important factors too. Make some big prints at different f-stops and see which looks best.

For the 100 V-Elmar the best aperture is f11. For the 100 Focotar-2, it is f8, but Leica states that f5.6 is fully usable.
