Nostradamus,Yourdon,Koskinen,C'mon!?!?greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread |
Well there I was flipping the channels on Friday nite with my skeptical wife that I've been hammering with statistics and all of the credible information on the Web and other places. "Look honey even 60 minutes is addressing the subject". But horrors of all horrors, to be watching UNSOLVED MYSTERIES (just flipping by) and to see Doom and gloom prophecies from unsubstantiated psychics, and then to flip back in 10 min. or so and have Yourdon espousing Y2K, "Oh my God" I thought this blows all my hard lobbying of credible info. He (yourdon) might as well have been wearing a sandwich sign. To be sandwiched in with pychics!!! anybody else feel a little strange about the medium used last night??

Why?What have you got against Psychics or Prophets?
Edgar Cayce, Nostradamus, Mother Shipton - all very very much on the money.
Revelation anyone???

It was certainly a disappointing show. That said, it's important, as with everything to differentiate who's good at their gift and who's not. I find Nostradamas fascinating... doesn't mean he's always right, and he's often been misinterpreted.Edgar Cayce was a "truly" gifted psychic. Not like the tabloid types on 1-800-you-name-that-junk-food-psychic. Being somewhat psychic myself, and having seen some real master psychics at work, I can only say, as with anything else, you have to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Before you start crediting Cayce with such a wonderful success rate it might be best to examine a critical review of his record. Take a look at this unflattering biographical sketch of the sleeping pyschic:http://skepdic.com/cayce.html

Dave,I find it quite appropriate that Y2K Doom and Gloom should be covered by Unsolved Mysteries and the Art Bell show. That's where it belongs. :)

The biggest unsolved mystery is why you keep posting your lame-assed viewpoints on this Forum...
