Premiere 5.1 and DV capture

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Editing DV Films : One Thread

We're attempting to capture DV from a Sony VX1000 via firewire on a new B & W G3...We've got Mac's Firewire enabler and support extensions and the Premiere plug-ins. However Premiere doesn't seem to recognize any video input giving us this error message: "Unable to connect to capture driver" under the capture settings. Any answers?

I'm not sure if you are talking about the G3 or the new G4 but if you mean the new G4, these are the things you will need: extensions; 1. Firewire DV enabler, 2. Firewire DV support, 3. Quicktime DV enabler, and 4. Quicktime DV support. Also you will need Adobe Premiere 5.1c upgrade and a beta plug-in. You can get the Premiere 5.1c upgrade and the beta plug-in at: www.adobe.com/products/premiere/updat51c.html

Golly, maybe if you weren't such a PRETENTIOUS and ANNOYING FUCK you would be able to connect to capture drives and to human beings. Stop being such a self centered masturbatorial dick and maybe the world, and your equipment, will stop acting against you.

What comes around goes around.
