The South Carolina RR Museum attempted in late 98/eatrly 99 to contact CSX about a BQ but got no answer. I personally have slides of at least five in Lugoff, SC over the years. We would dearly like to save one, but have hit walls so far. Can any one help???!!?

Some time ago Bob Westin contacted the ACL & SAL HS sayng he is interested in preserving a BQ. NOW IS THE TIME for anyone who is interested to get going on this. Bob can be contacted at 2204 Sixth St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, (330) 945-9475, e mail OandLE@aol.com. Good luck and please post any developments here. Larry Goolsby

On the subject of the BQ23-7, does anyone know of any efforts to preserve one of these engines.Although ten were only built, I feel they are signifigant in railroad history as they were the forerunners of todays "safety cab" locomotives. It would be a shame to see them all gone to the torch as so many of our locomotives have.

The few that are left are in Huntington WVA
