Delta- T Probe

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Electric Utilities and Y2K : One Thread

happy memorial day.

after reading rick and bonnie's posts i remembered that every generation in my family[the last three] had a least one veteran in foreign wars witnessing thing we only envision in nightmares. here's hoping it was the last generation to endure these hardships.

i am on mark fraustschi's newslist. i saw a comment that he made regarding embedded chips and a promising new device designed to test same.

so i wrote and asked his permission to post the data for the engineers on this forum. he was kind enough to acquiesce.

factfinder, cl, engineer might already be aware of this device but the information might be useful to someone else out there on the front lines. so for what it's worth his reply follows:

Marianne,

Thanks for your letter.

Coincidentally, I'll get my first crack at the Delta-T probe tomorrow.

Yes, you have my permission to post the quotation. Please also provide a link to the full newsletter, archived at http://www.tmn.com/y2k/

Thanks,

Mark

this is the comment that prompted my request:

ON THE EMBEDED FRONT: Mark (mailto:frautsch@tmn.com)

On May 6 I gave a speech and workshop on embedded systems to the Union Internationale des Chemins de fer (International Union of Railroads http://www.uic.asso.fr/) in Paris.

PS: I am impressed with what I have read about the Delta-T Probe; a Y2K auditing device for embedded systems. I have begun working with the U. S. distributor, Akcess2k Inc. (http://www.akcess2k.com). From time to time I will write here about my experiences with it.

We received an offer of the device, a technical description and a film showing how to work with the device. Can anybody tell me about his experiences with the device ?
