JIM BAKKER: WORLD'S ABOUT TO END -- AND HOLLYWOOD'S GOING FIRST!

DISGRACED televangelist Jim Bakker says he is on a mission from God to
warn the world that the end is near -- and that the destruction is
going to start in Los Angeles and Hollywood!
The one-time high-flying minister -- who spent five years in prison
for bilking the flock of his Praise the Lord ministries out of $158
million -- claims he saw first-hand how Earth will end when God turned
him into a human seismograph.
Bakker says his earth-shattering encounter with Armageddon occurred
when he was riding in a limousine through Los Angeles.
"I experienced one of the strangest sensations of my life," he writes
in his new book, Prosperity and the Coming Apocalypse.
"I started resonating with the earth deep below Los Angeles. I began
to shake and suddenly it was as if I could see down into the earth. I
saw huge boulders, bowed upward and grinding against each other."
He is convinced God gave him a message that none of the skyscrapers
around him would survive.
"There is going to be an earthquake unlike any this area has ever
experienced," Bakker says God told him. "There will be nothing left."
Since then, Bakker, 60 and newly married, has been spreading the
message that the world's end could come any time, probably within the
next decade.
"The world will be plunged into chaos -- a time of horrendous
tribulations," he writes. He describes meteors colliding with the
earth, massive earthquakes and storms and even a nuclear holocaust.
And he maintains that the calamities of Armageddon have already begun.
"Torrential rains, unsettling weather patterns, violent storms,
famines, droughts, earthquakes increasing in frequency and intensity,
volcanic eruptions and a host of other signs Jesus told us to watch
for are happening now," he declares.
Bakker claims that God has even enlisted Hollywood to warn people. He
says that the movie Deep Impact, in which a huge meteor is on a
collision course with Earth, was a signal of the coming of the real
thing.
"Whether our government wants us to know about it or not, I believe
our planet is going to be hit by an asteroid or comet," he proclaims.
"I do not base such a bold assertion on Hollywood movies or scientific
evidence; I base my statement on the word of God."
A meteor, he says, could deliver an explosion with the force to wipe
out most of the population -- and could strike with virtually no
warning.
Bakker, who admits he knows many people will think he's gone insane,
says that he needed his prison hitch, which ended in 1994, for God to
have uninterrupted time to get His message across to him. And he also
thinks his checkered past is why God chose him to deliver this dire
message.
"When I went to prison, I lost much more than houses, cars and other
material possessions," he says. "I lost my dignity, my pride and my
reputation. Maybe that's why God has selected me to carry such a
potentially laughable message: I had no reputation left to protect."
