I just want to point out here that "grown up" should be defined by a 5-year-old's standards, that is to say it simply means "some time after now when I can watch TV past 8:00 and never ever ever eat brussels sprouts again."

I am in no way condoning or endorsing adulthood in any traditional, responsibility-laden sense, except for the staying up late and not eating brussels sprouts kind of way.

My dad is still trying to figure that out, and he's almost 60. I've inherited the same Peter Pan complex, I think. Why grow up?

I want to be a Space Vixen.

An introverted, bookish Space Vixen.

An introverted, bookish Space Vixen who likes to wear a flower print kimono bathrobe and silk slippers during teatime with Puck, Obie, Bozo and Teddy.

Oh, wait.

I want to be a fairy princess.

Do I really have to grow up? I am having so much fun being in denial that I assumed I could contine until I die.

Well if I ever did, I would like to be rich, not piddly rich, Bill Gates rich.

I *am* a fairy princess. Convincing the rest of the world of that is another story. ;-)

Actually, I've always said I want to be a princess when I grow up. That way you can just have fun and be royalty while someone else actually runs things. I would also like to be a penalty box counselor. "Next time, don't high-stick right in front of the ref, okay?"

When I was eight, I wanted to be a dinosaur. A brontosaurus to be specific because he looked like a good dinosaur and the only one that stood a chance at thrashing a T. Rex. When I was fifteen, I wanted to be an artist but then I found out that to be a good artist you had to suffer a lot and nobody really appreciated you until after you were dead. Except for Picasso but I didn't really approve of his lifestyle at the time. When I was seventeen, I read Catcher in the Rye and decided for once and for all what I definitely wanted to be. But the school guidance counselor told me that catching people in the rye was not a real job and even if it was she doubted that it would pay all that well. Nowadays, I focus more of my time on just trying to be a better me (although sometimes I still dream of being a brontosaurus).

I want to be younger and a boss that doesn't have to do anything but like opine to everybody and when I opine they all listen and do what I say. So I thought I would run for a local judgeship next year. That ought to get everyone's attention.. I speak and they all have to listen and do what I say. Kewl. heh, heh.

Forget princess, I want to be the Queen!

If I can't be the Queen then I want to be someone's filthy rich wife who gets to play with the dogs.

When I grow up I want to be "in the know". By this, I mean, I want to know what happiness is, what accomplishment is, and what belief in one's self is. I want to know that I do not need anyone to get by in this world, but realize that it is a hell of a lot more fun when I have people to share my many escapades. Mostly, I want to changed lives with what I have come to know. This is someone whom I hope to be when I have finally grown up.
