Does Pope serve a "term" or "reign"?

When referring to the Pope's reign, should it be referred to as a "reign" or "term", since he is elected? Or something completely different? What is the official term?

It is better refered to as "years in office" Since it is an "Office" that they are elected to. The pope holds the "office" of the successor of St. Peter, Vicar of Christ. He holds it until he steps down or dies.
