Deleting The TB2000 Forum Link.....TOO MUCH CRAP!!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Our Company has had a link to this forum on our home page for over 8 months. This afternoon, we made a decision to remove the link as this forum has digressed into just another collection of idiots like al-d. We realize that our micro-involvement in this forum is not important but it is a shame to see how this site has deteriorated so recently. You now have to wade through so much crap to get anything valid and who want's to have their business associated with such nonsence. I think it is time for me to take a rest from all of this as well. To the folks that made this site so great, we wish you all the best in the coming months. Good luck to you all!!!

i don't buy it. instead of pouting and whining and coming across as a major prima donna, why don't you just skip the threads you know upset you?i always check the author of a thread at the same time i'm checking out the title, and then decide to read it or not based on how interested i am. i can almost always tell how relevant the subject by who the author is. sounds like you're kind of "throwing the baby out with the bathwater". unfortunate.

Iben, you've really hurt my feelings today. Door -- ass -- etc.

-- see ya (bye@bye.now), June 20, 1999.

Sorry Iben, but, have a happy Y2K! Be careful though, it *might* get offensive! This honestly hasn't been a very professional Y2K. We'll try harder next time.

Will --- ROFL. Yeah, for real professionalism, cf the Y2K remediation effort worldwide.

-- BigDog (BigDog@duffer.com), June 20, 1999.

The company's just maintaining its image. Don't they all try to do that?

-- Tom Carey (tomcarey@mindspring.com), June 20, 1999.

Company, what company? Sounds like some home garage shop thingy. Maybe putting out pamphlets for "The President's Message On Y2K?" Can't even respond to this with a good email address. Do I smell burnt parrot?

how many al-d. posts ARE the REAL AL-D.???---my pooch-knows.

-- al--d. (catt@zianet.com), June 20, 1999.

Too bad. I agree that there's a bunch of crap floating around here these days, but if you leave now, you are going to miss the end of the "game." It is sure to be one hell of an ending. Let us know if you find a better site. I've tried... <:)=

i,m drunk cause my wife left me for a poodle-great dane mix<

-- al--d. (catt@zianet.com), June 20, 1999.

Actually, I am a poodle-great dane mix and my wife left me for a german shepherd. I get confused when I'm drunk.

-- -- al--d. (catt@zianet.com), June 20, 1999.

ahh, that explains everything :)

-- Andy (2000EOD@prodigy.net), June 20, 1999.

Actually, my poodle is drunk, and my wife, who is a german shepard, left me. Feels good to be sober again.

-- al--d. (catt@zianet.com), June 20, 1999.

See ya ! Too much crap? You got a lot of nerve! What have you contributed?

Besides we need the crap! Too much bad news. We need some laughs too! All rice packing and no play makes y2k a dull day!

remember,al-D,it's ok to love your pets.Just don't LOVE your pets.

-- zoobie (zoobiezoob@yahoo.com), June 20, 1999.

Ah, the opportinity of a life time! Iben, I for one have appriciated some if not all of your comments. To throw my nickel in with some, don't leave now, you will miss the "end game" as Sysman says. I'm with Sue, we need alittle humor to stay sane. (But Sue don't shout so much eh?). Finally al-d is a welcome addition to this forum (IMO). As long as he tags on to threads and doesn't plant to many trees of his own (no offense al...).

"another collection of idiots"? I'm honored to be categorized with al-d.

-- Randolph (dinosaur@williams-net.com), June 20, 1999.

"...who want's to have their business associated with such nonsence."

Let's see now: One grammatical error & one spelling error in the same sentence.

And these folks are concerned about their image...?
