Medical supplies avail here

We've purchased some medical supplies not available otherwise from a doctor in TX. He is a family physician who is a GI. He has put together a "Hospital in a Box" for several hundred dollars ( appropiate for groups) which is VERY complete - a big kit to handle most every likely accident/illness.

We took advantage of the ability to order sutures, needles, anathesia, antibiotics appropiate for anthrax (expensive), and supplies to handle allergies to bee stings (the premade syringes cost $40 each but there is a cheaper method if you are able to handle loading a needle correctly). We've handled animal vaccinations and medicines a lot, so are familiar and practiced a bit.

The doctor gives good advice, his margins are low, and he and his wife are in this to help people, definietely not making a lot of money. I believe he has quit his practice in order to help supply people. They believe it's very possible that people will be without medical care next year.

Does anyone know if there is a listing anywhere of docs who are "GI"s? I would especially be interested in any located in the upper midwest area (esp. Wisconsin).

(1) Good information.

(2) You might also want to look into cruising sailor's ship's medicine chests...

I would be interested in obtaining snakebite anti-venom. There are four kinds of poisonous snakes in Texas, and they all live on my Y2K hideout. So far, I've been lucky, but I'd like some insurance.

I'm guessing that it has a short shelf life, has to be refrigerated, or some such attribute that will get me hosed, but if anybody knows anything about this, I'd love to hear it.
