I was sworn at by one of Abbey's Solicitors

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Repossession : One Thread

Dear Lee,

I owe Abbey National in excess of #40k, they are using a firm called Dibb Lupton Alsop to chase the debt.

Two weeks ago one of the people I was dealing with told me to "F**king stop messing around", I think the call was recorded on my ansaphone....

What should I do?

Good grief.

I would like to hear that tape very much. Do you know the name of the DLA lawyer concerned?

I'm not sure if being sworn at gives you any rights or right to take action over it but it does sound distressing.

I wonder if there is any way you could record it on to another tape or make a copy of it for my files. What do you think?

Let us be fair to Dubb Lipton Alsop ,no solicitor would behave in this manner it would be in breach of Law Society Rules ie solicitors Practise Rules. The Senior Partner at that firm should be written toexplaining, what has taken place with supporting evidence and from there and his reply a report tothe law society ,if you are not satisfied with the answer also make a formal complaint to your local Trading Standards Dept
