Storing kerosene. What are the risks?

I picked up some kerosene today. The only storage instructions I could find on the can were "Store in a cool well ventillated area".

Or what?

How cool is cool? How well ventillated? Will the garage do? In this age of over litigation, I must marvel at the sparse storage instructions on the container. Either kerosene is very safe or the labeling is a hold over from the 1890's!

Answers

Kerosene is just #1 diesel fuel. (well, sorta). Just store in your garage, and gon't get sparks or flame around it. Not planning a barbecue on top of the tank? Then you prob'ly don't have to worry.
