Bill Clinton Y2K talk, 10/31?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

A posting on another board says that there was a D.C. memo going around that Clinton will address the nation on 10/31 regarding Y2K preps. Anyone know anything about this? The post said he will discuss whether to prep for three days or two weeks.

Is this when he will announce that he is the first American Emperor?

-- Anonymous99 (Anonymous99@Anonymous99.xxx), July 16, 1999.

Grab your shorts folks... If he does have that little speech. It'll be to anounce Martial Law being put into effect "for the good of the people".And his defacto acendance to the throne. Shakey

-- Shakey (in_a_bunker@forty.feet), July 16, 1999.

That man scares me. I wouldn't put it past him to use this opportunity to declare martial law and put all his political enemies in the death camps he and Bush built out in the desert.

Gotta practice shooting that sniper, ahem..., deer rifle.

As someone who lives in the desert, I can confirm the existance of those Detention Centers. There is one at Black Canyon Freeway and Pioneer Road in Phoenix. A road sign warns not to pick up hitch hikers.

In the last few months, there has been a flurry of activity there, the latest upgrade being the addition of VERY high intensity lamps.

I guess that if you are a 'guest' of the Feds in January, electricity is the LEAST of your worries!!

So word has it that this will be done on "Devils night"...how appropriate.

Do ya think that once the public hears this, the parents will go trick or treating with the kids to "stock up" on candy?

Or, will everyone be so busy with Halloween festivities that no one will be watching?

-- Tim (pixmo@pixelquest.com), July 16, 1999.

K. Stevens, I hate to tell you this but there are 2 prisons in the area of the Black Canyon Highway and Pioneer Rd. These are not the detention centers people were talking about in other threads.

-- Beckie (none@nomail.com), July 16, 1999.

OR: if he announces it at high noon, everybody will have all evening to discuss it, as Halloween is a "community" thing.

Great. So now we all know to dress as UN troops.

Nah, I'm going as a Sheep.

Well, it's a good thing our commander in cheat is such an honest person. We can all rest assured that he'll give us the straight dope.

LOL...LOL...LOL..

-- CygnusXI (noburnt@toast.net), July 16, 1999.

The difference between a detention center and a prison is that in a prison the inmates are there after being convicted.....

Right?

Here's an interesting article about camps etc...

Fema, detention etc

(apologies to those who find the topic tooo kooky.)

Let's see what we have here:

Rumored memo about Clinton (the arch-boogy-man) giving a speech about Y2K on Halloween. But this rumored memo is circulating in July. Yup. It all checks out.

Doesn't anyone here use the sniff test? This is a hoax, people.

-- Brian McLaughlin (brianm@ims.com), July 16, 1999.

Devil's Night Out, hhmmm, last November we heard & posted that November 1, 1999 martial law would be put in place -- positioning, gearing up visible on 11/1/1999. Been surprised to read about legislation in Eugene & California etc. this early. Notice the vast chloroform settled snugly around the masses. At this point the Prez could announce a contingent of aliens landing 1/1/2000 and turning us all pink polka-dotted and nobody would pay any attention ...

-- Ashton & Leska in Cascadia (allaha@earthlink.net), July 16, 1999.

Oh come on Brian - Mara said it was a thrid-hand rumor right at the top - and a bunch people made appropriate and on-target wise-cracking remarks about the rumor.

So what? hell - I'm glad he's going to say something about the subject - once in January, once in November.

What will he announce?

So show me any of the above are wrong - but they forgot confiscating all registered guns "to protect the kids" from violence and vicious militia attacks by ultra-right-winger fanatics" - who are "us" by the way. Possible restrictions on meetings, on the Internet (very likely), on bank withdrawals, and dire warnings against "rumor-mongering" and "extremism" and "panic" - especially if they can prepare people for arrests or confinement before the event, in the name of "keeping order" against cyber terrorism - then martial law can merely be "extended" rather than suddenly started right at the event.

(Remember, he must mentally prepare the police and national guard and alphabet agencies as well for their "anti-terrorist" role against US citizens.)

To announce the event then gives time to "prepare" the rest of the people mentally to the loss of freedoms needed to prevent bank runs the last week in Dec.

If it (the rumored public announcement) were to announce the need for three weeks, or two weeks of food and water - it would need to be done now. Instead, now we have many domestic warnings and political appearances by Reno "against terrorism" and against "hate-speech" and "guns" and "gun violence" and "right wing fanatics", not "for preparations."

Look at where Reno goes and what she says the next two months. Look also at what Hillary speaks for/against/and about the next two months.

They are not telling people to prepare for y2k disruptions, but are they telling people to prepare for "war"?

Robert:

You are becoming more cheerful all the time.

Yes, if news/information channels are controlled, then we could easily become the "cause" of any and all problems. Y2K? Not around here. Just them darn terrorists and survivalists busting loose. They caused shortages by all of their hoarding. They caused rioting by owning guns. Hell, they committed the real terrorist attacks, blew up trains, chemical plants, cut wires.

Folks, should the papers and the TV/Radio truly come under official censorship, then you will see some REAL spin.........

-- Jon Williamson (jwilliamson003@sprintmail.com), July 16, 1999.

The rumor I heard on another forum said Clinton will be talking about Y2k in 3 weeks. (I said RUMOR)

-- Linda A. (adahi@muhlon.com), July 16, 1999.

I wonder how Slick is going to explain to the people what he was doing during the first 7 years of his presidency to allow the problem to become so disasterous? He shouldn't have been spending so much time with Monica and any other bimbo who was stupid enough to give into this creep.

As my dad used to say, "When you are doing the wrong things, you are wasting time that you could spend doing the right things."

number six, your link didn't work for me,...is this the article you had in mind? http://www.olympus.net/wkstone/webKeystone.py?shopCart=MnyJkW5EFL9s9jj r_34708&page=/Dealer/Articles/femaroad.htm&UserID=loompanics_shop&Prof ile=[shopping_cart:opNew.prof]

Mumsie, oops, turns out that direct links to their articles expire. Go to

loompanics

then click on "articles and features", the article in question is called "The road to Heart Mountain? Rumours, FEMA and the future." (purely by coincidence, the author of the article has actually written a book called "I am not a number!" Small world.) The "Cognitive Jiu-jitsu" article has useful info on hiding stuff, but written from an unusual perspective. Snoop around their catalog, you'll find lots of interesting, amazing, disturbed, wacko, useful stuff.

...such as "BUILD YOUR OWN LASER, PHASER, ION RAY GUN, & OTHER WORKING SPACE-AGE PROJECTS" $21.95, 400 pages, soft-cover.

Ya gotta love that title.

Thanks for the 'pep-talk' Robert. Sometimes I feel like you are my communication device!!!

(it always sounds much more intelligent and far more 'stable', coming from people like Robert)
