USA Today Article -- $1 Billion Y2K Ripoff Likelygreenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread |
USA Today newspaper (print edition) had today (1999-07-16) a lead article quoting Gaertner Group that hasty remediation of banking and other financial programs has led to the possiblity of those entities being ripped off for millions/billions by programmers installing "back doors" while remediating software programs. Such back doors would allow the programmers installing them the ability to siphon off funds. Let the games begin!

Probably because they didn't use "Gartner Group" as the company to fix them so Gartnaer group could be the ones to rip them off.
