Anyone know of any anti-diareheal herbs/plants that grow in the desert SW round bout December/January? Any other ideas as to how to care for such circumstances? Western medicines "cures" are sure to be unavailable and/or severely expensive given situational potentials, so herbs/plants seem, to me, of primary importance. You need to find a person or book that has been written locally. If you are in the New Mexico or Arizona area, find a Navajo and ask them or have them direct you to one that knows. Different areas will put the same name on different plants. Mormon tea is a good example. I have seen three different plants refered to as Mormon tea. Search the net, I am sure you can find a book or person in your area with knowledge. Check around and find someone practicing homeopathic medicine. Just some ideasTaz

Try this site, full of great and printable info from a fairly famous native herb expert. Michael Moore's Herb Site
