Christening or Baptism.

Could someone please tell me the difference between a Christening and a Baptism. Is there a difference at all? When is each term used specifically?

Thanks! Tiesha

Christening is the traditional name given to the conferral of the Sacrament of Baptism. The term comes from the fact that in Baptism we are made Christ-like and receive the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and are incorporated into the Body of Christ the Church. We receive a Christian name in Baptism thus the term - Christened (or at least are supposed to)
