Could y2k mess up elections for 2000?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Is it possible with all the plausable disruptions in the year 2000 either by computer/ human errors or natural disasters or "foreign/ domestic" problems OR mainly all of the above happening at once that our current Prez. will try to stay in office by declaring a national state of emergency and possible EO's to declare him Prez, until further notice? I'm only wondering if its possible or probable?

I don't think it's up to him to keep himself in office. If any of us sheep have any sense at all we'll boot his ass out and give the government the long overdue overhaul it needs. Could y2k be the political toilet flush we have been waiting for?? Hmmmm

Clinton will be king.

Since he already governs and acts like one, all that's left is the coronation ceremony.

Ol' Billy Bob wants Y2K so he can stay in power, but Gore might be able to make a power grab.

Every week or two some nut has to post this crap. King Klinton on a power grab going to stop elections to rule over the mess that Y2k will leave for him.

Well Scoopy....

Has anyone tested the vote counting machines to see if they are compliant?

In a national emergency, Klintoon will do anything he wants to do....for the sake of the country, of course. All good sheeple will follow, bleeting for help. If we're having problems with phones/power/civil unrest, I'd say it could be quite possible he would 'simply postpone' elections. Gore grab power from him? Over Hitlery's dead body!
