Ace, thanks.....but no more Called Canton she said that they don't carry them anymore..and she didn't have any in the store............the number #996421 was the correct stock number, if anyone else wants to try it...Has ANYONE seen 55 gal blue barrels in a Sam's THIS week??

Strange...I picked up 2 yesterday at the Sams Club in Roseville California.
Didn't see any on the floor. Asked the gal at the membership desk who offered up that they have three-hundred and something! The check-out guy said that I was the first person that he had seen purchasing those barrels. 'Course they are hiding them in a "non- public" part of the store.
My receipt shows the following: 996421 55 Gallon Drum 22.99
They are opaque blue - good for outside storage/sun shielding.
Happy shopping!

Same answer at Irvine (CA) Sam's Club:"We're not stocking them anymore."
If the barrels were selling, Sam's would stock 'em. *sigh*

Mine came special ordered from the Clearwater, FL Sam's Club which supposedly had about 300 of them 2-3 weeks ago. I only ordered 2 but they sent a pallet of 8. When I went to pick up my 2, I was told that the other 6 were already gone. Some employee who has a booth at local flea market bought them to re-sell! However, I did see one barrel at the Walmart's next door - don't know if it was from the same shipment.

http://www.jademountain.com/watstor.htmljade mountain sells 55 gallon drums and a lot of other stuff. My only reservation is that I ordered some solar cookers from them a week and a half ago and haven't gotten them. I know that's not a really long time except that nowadays one does receive ordered items pretty quickly.

they were probably bought by Sam's at a special rate; can't pay that price, won't buy the product. you can find out the manufacturer/supplier by asking their front end manager or assistant warehouse manager (used to work for Price Club/Costco as f.e. supervisor; i know they can find phone numbers and addresses for you- even if they have to call their buying office to do it)
