What happened to Bruce Beach?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Hi!

I'm Swedish. I have a website where I post important pieces of Y2k news in Swedish. However, most links are in English. Check it out if you like:

My question is:

What happened to Bruce Beach and his essay on embedded systems? He was around for just a short blip. Is he still publishing anything? Any news on the "Beach bug"?

Dear Mayhem

Bruch Beach most likely dropped out of site (to us) because of all the flak he received. You might notice that there are few from the scintific community speaking out (exeption, DR. Paula Gordon, Yardini,Yourdon). These people usually confine themseleves to thier own inner circles and rarely interact with the uninitiated.

I think that Beach is onto something, and should not be dismissed out of hand.

Others have expressed similar sentiments.

regards,

Bob P

I'm posting a URL that is the latest I have for what Beach is doing. This site will give you info on what he is doing in Canada to prep for y2k.

Hope this helps....

Sorry I'm not "geek enough" to know how to do a hotlink. Maybe someone can explain...thanks!

Received following this evening 8/10/1999 from Bruce's email news:

Y2K People Finding People - http://www.webpal.org/list.htm

Dear Friends,

Peter Boudreau is busy merging the Y2K Network and the Survival Community Network and within a week we should be able to give you the results of that merger.

At the moment it appears that the Y2K scene is going to remain in its doldrums right on up until the event date, as expected and planned per the Navy War College page.

This has created a problem for the Ark Two community. As you may know, Ark Two is the largest pluralistic, multicultural Y2K preparedness complex in North America, and has been designed to be on an economy of scale to make the total preparation costs for each individual the lowest possible.

However, for reasons incomprehensible to us we are having difficulty in finding people to participate. Below is the URL of a website which explains the Ark Two community and which suggests some methods of participation.

http://www.survivalnetwork.org/y2k/

If you have any ideas about how we might go about attracting others to participate in our community, we would very much like to hear your suggestions. Also, if you would post, mail out, or otherwise distribute as broadly as possible the above URL, we would greatly appreciate that also.

Sincerely, Bruce Beach and Peter Boudreau

About 2 weeks ago, I read a Bruce Beach article on why the coming one world government is such a good idea. I nearly choked. Don't have the URL and won't waste my time trying to find it. Suffice to say I am no longer taking Bruce Beach's theories and opinions seriously.
