Propane tank (for sale (we're moving to a rural property that has one)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Sonoma County : One Thread

We are moving shortly to a rural area and the buyer of our house is requiring that we remove the propane tank (go figure!!) Our new property has an existing propane tank that is more than adequate. Allied Propane offered us this used tank earlier this year for $250 (including their labor to replace the valves). It holds 155 gallons and is in perfect working order.

We are selling it at cost ($250) and hope that this might help some other savvy y2k'er. People normally rent propane tanks because they are usually prohibitively expensive to buy (over $1,000). However, in the event of shortages or other disruptions in supply, if you own your own tank you can have any propane company supply you with propane. If you rent, you can only be supplied by the company renting you the tank (which may or may not have fuel).
