Note from the purchasing department at the college ( I am a adjunct teacher) today

Requisitioners are reminded that when creating an electronic requisition on screen 250 in the FRS system, you must indicate in the fiscal year field "00".

Two-digit years is not the problem.

Some software does not interpret two-digit years appropriately: that is the problem. Some software does, however, and you can't tell which is which just by looking at a screen or a form.

I think the problem is that the "fixes" for Y2K are inconsistent. What if any havoc that may cause when the "real" time date comes, we have yet to see!
