Looking for information about furniture that my ancestor John Townsend of Philadelphia made in the 1700s. Where might I be able to see a piece? Can anyone send me a copy of how he may have marked his furniture - i.e. a signature or paper label?

There are so many books written about the famous Townsend family that they are too numerous to mention. Please try your local library; they should have interlibrary loan capabilities and would be happy to locate these resources for you.
