Im wondering if anyone can give me some advice on scanning b&w photos. They always come out much darker on the scan than the actual picture that I scan. I know to mess with gamma, contrast etc but still doesnt look right. any suggestions?

1) Type of computer 2) Operating system 3) Brand/model of monitor 4) Brand/model of video card 5) How long has it been since you stuck a colorimeter on your monitor and calibrated it?
