utilites who is ready vs complaint

How can we trust the utilites to tell us the truth without a code book? Every site I have gone to about status of the ulities seems to do alot of double talk about complaince. Has anyone had the time to compile this information? Is there a site to go to? Diane

Remember -- even if your utility gives you lots of information, it's self-reported readiness/compliance info. If it's a nuclear plant, then they may have been inspected or audited by NRC -- but chances are that you'll never get to see the detailed reports. If it's a non-nuclear plant, they may have submitted their self-reported data to NERC, which then aggregates and summarizes the info.

The only way you're going to get reliable info is is you have a "Deep Throat" informant who works in the utility company.

Diane-- check out Rick Cowles site www.euy2k.com and Roleigh Martin's site http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/roleigh_martin/

Both these men are VERY well informed as far as the electricity is concerned. Lots of info on these sites. Micky T.
