I was wondering if anyone out there has any recordings of Boris Vian playing trumpet. Also, I was looking for that one photo of him lounging with Miles and others during the Jazz festival of Paris. Thank you! Sincerely, Keith

I had some on tape but there was nothing "Vian" about his playing and I only listened to it once. I know Vian liked swing but it doesn't move me. I think recordings might be available through amazon.

I have only one tape of Boris Vian and Claude Luter (and orchestra), but never found it on record or CD. There is also a double CD Boris Vian chante Boris Vian (easy to find, suppose that exists in Amazon), but I don4t know if he plays or only sings. I have 4 recordings by Boris Vian playing trumpet with Claude Abadie, recorded 1944, from the CD "Boris Vian et le Jazz Francais". 6 recordings with Claude Luter from 1945 are on the CD "Revival-New Orleans sur Seine Vol.1, 1945-1949" (EMI France Jazztime-out of print)

You can buy in Paris the boock: Boris Vian,Jazz a Saint Germain,Editions du Layeur. The boock contains a Cd with 6 records of Boris Vian et C.Abadie Orchestra,5 records from B.V et son Orchestre and 4 records with Claude Luter and others.The boock cost 60 french francs.
