I remember reading how to can nuts. First you heat them up on a cookie sheet and then process them in jars in the oven. I will try and find the post but in the meantime try putting 'canning nuts' in a search engine.

LOL Y'all.

I have good results by freezing them first to kill off any critters, then in jars. The oils will go rancid so you want to keep them as cool as possible.

Nasser,

If you really want to keep NUTS for a long time, go back and read EVERY one of Al D's posts. That should get you thru the rollover!!!

LOL Dancr! BTW, I went to the personal prep site you developed and recommended, and it was great! Thanks for sharing that!

I found it! Here are the instructions

Pressure Canned Nuts Place fresh nuts in a shallow pan and set them into a warm, not hot, oven at about 300 degrees, leaving them until the nuts are dry. Do not brown or toast- just let them dry so they won't mildew in the jars later. Pack the hot nuts in clean pint jars, leaving a 1/2 inch head room. Adjust lids, then process in your pressure canner for 10 minutes at 5# pressure. Let canner cool, the result is jars of nuts free from insect invasion which you can safely store on your pantry shelf.
