Anyone know of a bugout bag list?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I remember seeing a page that had many different links to sites with BOB examples but can't now find it. Does anyone know the page and have a link? Many thanks

matt,

Try the following thread. It has a lot of bugout bag links on it:

matt, Here's one that I've had stapled by
the front door for 30 years. This was
not for emergencies but for taking off
hitchhiking for parts unknown at a moments
notice. I still think that the Frisbee
would be very important for exercise and
diversion.

Pack
Sleeping bag
Straps
Raingear
Tent
Canteen
Bowl and Chop sticks
Knife
1st aid kit
Flashlight
Toilet paper
Candles
Matches
Bowsaw
Tarp
Hair brush
Face rag
Towel
Soap
Toothbrush
Rope
Blanket
Sewing kit
Clothes
Food
Frisbee
Money

...and the answer is....SEARCH ENGINES!!!

Go to http://www.google.com (best engine on the Net) and type in "bugout bag" (without the quotes).

Matt,

The American Red Cross has a suggested Disaster Supply Kit. Try this URL http://www.redcross.org/disaster/safety/supplies.html

Sorry, I am among the "link-challanged"

If you email me, I'll send you a copy of the list I use. I've strived for lightweight, multi-use gear. I have tested it in actual use and have made improvements as I have gone along.

Cut and paste them. The FIRST one is GREYBEAR's SUE kit. Cheap, a gallon ziploc and you got MOST of thre stuff in your home RIGHT NOW.

You'll find lots of discussion about this at the sister Preparation Forum, under the category Contingency and Bug Out Plans.
