Hey, Vern:

I'm glad I live in northwestern Ohio. Here we have to deal with only stupid business snobs and the largest ostrich population this side of the Mississippi River.

Anything else high tech passes over the DGIs heads like a cool Autumnal breeze..........

How is it the vacations for police officers can be cancelled JUST IN CASE, but that's not viewed as alarmist? Me thinks I smell a double-standard here.

Ahh shucks, I thought that WE, as in the forum, made the front page!

I got a kick out of this though:

"He's an engineer for Advanced Poly-Packaging Inc."

Tick... Tock... <:00=

Oh brother! In one paragraph they say:

"With the doomsayers and alarmists making lots of money by scaring people about massive computer failure..."

In the next paragraph they say:

"He backs it up with chapter and verse -- a 176-page book.."

So who's trying to make money here???

Chuck, check out Friday's (Oct. 1st) Plain Dealer, Metro Section, for the article about Mentor ending their New Year's Eve celebration two hours early, partly on account of worries about Y2K disruptions.

I believe it was Dr. Ed Yardeni who said, "Yes, I'm an alarmist. That's because I'm alarmed!"
