D'ya think Y2k was the culpret?

For several years now I have had two vcr's connected to each other for dubbing (family reunions wedding's etc to share with other family households...) At the begining of this year one quit working, the other one didn't. The "broken one" would turn on, and the led display worked, but it wouldn't accept any commands to play, record etc. I threw the da** thing out.

I was unaware of y2k at the time but now, with hindsight, I wonder if on January 1, 1999 it tried to look a year ahead and blew it's little mind. That VCR was purchased in the mid 1980's. The one that still functions was purchased in the early 1990s. Do you computer experts think it was just a coincidence of timing, or was it y2k?

All the preppers won't be able to tape all the rollover events! (;-(

Frankie, my VCR dubber has done the same. It refuses to record. I only use it to dub, so it is used very seldom and is only 3 years old. But still it broke down. Very peculiar!

The media cover-up conspiracy is starting to unravel. Keep the good news flowing.
