Cory Hamasaki has met and talked to Bradley Sherman at least once. Cory writes that Sherman's perspective is extrapolated from his work -- Sherman does scientific computing, where dates play a noncritical role. Sherman has no experience with business systems, and fails to grasp how important (and hosed) they are to our everyday lives.

This is Cory's impression, of course. But importantly, Cory Hamasaki sees neither any indication nor any reason why Sherman would be part of any implicit conspiracy, much less a paid shill. Indeed, Cory has said that Sherman makes some very good points, and their debates tend to be both civil and focused on real code issues. They take each other seriously.

If y2k dave were of the same persuasion as Sherman, he would have even more of a field day finding sales techniques and disinformation among the doomers. Extremists at both ends use similar techniques. At least Sherman tends to be more civil.

Quite the salty one today eh? Taking it rather personally and to the heart huh? I notice the overwhelming number of pollies NEED to vent in personal attacks when questioned on the foolishness in the attempts to debunk this issue. Just remember this pollyannas. IF nothing happens, you can *smugly* point and laugh at us doomers. but remember, the opposite side of the coin is the IF it really is *breakdown point*, then those who 'spread the word' NOT to prepare will be the first ones to be publically drawn-and-quartered. LITERALLY. Remember, if it does melt down, and millions die for not having prepared, they won't hold US responsible...It'll be people like you and Flint that they blame.
