Is Dr. Dave a new character?

I was thrilled over Dr. Dave (or was that Dr. Dan?). I'm wondering if this was a one-shot deal or if we'll see him again.

I think that he will be a recurring character. The way he ticked off the nurses, paramedics, and docters (especially Weaver and Carter), make me think he'll be araound for awhile, probobaly as comic relief or a source of tension between doctors and paramedics.

He is supposed to be a series regular. (I read that in an old post here)

He's an absolute doll. so glad to see that someone else liked him. A nice contrast to the Carter that I have loved for 5 years!!

I just read the other day that he is signed to the same deal that Rebecca De Mornay and Alan Alda signed. That is a five episode deal with the option of going longer if both parties agree.

I thought "Dr. Dave" was pretty much a goober. I'm not sure I would want someone that flighty taking care of me!

I have to say that I REALLY REALLY hope that Dr. Dave stays on the show and becomes a regular. I really like the character and he is absolutely the hottest guy to be on ER in a long time.
