Diane,

Thanks for the tip about auto-conversion of PDF files; I had never heard of it before. I've just bought Adobe 4.0, which has cool features like allowing you to put "post-it" stickers on a PDF document as a form of annotation -- I was thinking of doing it to the Senate Y2K T-100 report, but didn't have the time... meanwhile, I do have Adobe- challenged friends, and it's nice to have this resource.

For the Adobe Acrobat PDF file challenged...

Whenever you have the complete internet PDF code of a document, you can send an e-mail to Adobe for an instant, automatic text conversion...

Send to: pdf2txt@adobe.com

The Subject line can be anything, but ONLY one pdf code can be in the body of the message... just the code... no message. Within a couple minutes Adobe will send you back a text converted copy. Youll miss the graphics, but it allows the Adobe Acrobat challenged to see what its all about.

(If for any reason it doesnt convert, try resending or contact the Adobe web-site folks for help).

Glad you can find it useful Ed.

Someone once passed the tip along, here on the forum, and I've used it ever since. Useful prior to posting text from pdf files, rather than re-typing.

Also Adobe has a pdf to html conversion, but frankly, I've tried it, and it doesn't seem to do as well. Code is: pdf2html@adobe.com

A graphic is worth a 1000 *.pdf's:
