Moscow's plans for new years (CNN)greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread |
I find this interesting since our leaders seem to be scared senseless about accidental missle launches. Either it's not a very bright idea or something strange is afoot:(CNN) -- Muscovites are unlikely to let cold weather get in the way of New Year 2000 festivities, but budgetary limitations could put a damper on some of the city's plans.
Among the most grandest of those, albeit unlikely sounding, is a project called "Star of Bethlehem" -- a proposal to use missiles and satellites to create a cosmic cloud, a display that would appear to be a fireworks show in space. There's even talk of having missiles drop 220-pound capsules full of presents on five international cities. Estimated price tag: U.S.$12.5 million.
Wonder what's in those "presents?" :)

Next we will here how China and North Korea think it's a great idea and will allow/do the same over their major cities.Communist don't give a Damn for their citizens and it would'nt surprise me if they "accidentally launched" on themselves/each other just to retaliate and inflict harm on America.
Maybe just maybe we have something like star wars that can detour such an event. Then there is always GOD.
