SHOOTING IN BLACK & WHITE

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Shooting DV Films : One Thread

I have a Sony digital 8 camera and I want to shoot solely in b&w. The company claims that the camera gets 480,000 lines. Is this high enough for what I'm doing or would I need a 3-chip camera to get a better image? Also, should I use the camera effects to get b&w or use filters? Please get with me soon. I need some answers.

yo bucked tooth. a 3 chipper is best, but a digital 8 may be ok. shoot in color and then make it black & white when you edit. that's the way they do it. then you can always go back to color if you want it.
