Jim,

Have you thought about putting up a mirror site? It seems traffic often gets quite heavy at your site.

Jim Lord -

You've always been high on my list of Y2K heros. I've quoted your Grand Canyon/marble analogy many times and always listened to what you've had to say with interest and respect.

But when I got to the line "lady gladiators and gay warriors" and the comments folowing in the above linked text, I stopped reading. Too bad. You just got "X"d. The last thing we need as we enter this horrifically difficult time is more of the misogyny and prejudice (indicative of short-sighted thinking) that got us here in the first place.

Thanks for this piece Jim.

Cat, maybe you should have kept reading:

"...In this wretched and toxic environment, the senior leadership of the military services has become severely politicized by far the worst I have seen in my lifetime. Only those who support Clintons radical, political correctness agenda can aspire to flag rank even while they know this agenda is destroying fundamental military values.

This abandonment of principle in favor of self-promotion is not lost on junior officers or senior enlisted personnel. A recent Army survey indicated an astonishing 70% of soldiers dont trust their senior leadership. No wonder the retention rate, especially among pilots, is in the toilet."

Cat...

Putting sodomites in the military, along with women in combat, is what got us here in the first place

Duck. Haiti could whip our ass we have become so weak. Were open minded, though... its okay if the ladies dont have the strength to help a wounded buddy, or the laddies are too busy looking at Tolerance Training Movies to fight.

You think the Russians and Chinese dont know that? Do you think we can placate them with a program of Meals on Wheels?

Uh, did he say "Lady Gladiators"?

Jim, What a waste of space this article turned out to be. Why don't you speak the MASSIVE WASTE of TAXPAYERS MONEY that goes down WORTHLESS MILITARY project holes all year long. Anybody here believe that more spending equals a better military?? I seem to recall a 60 minutes expose about the 1000 years of space parts the military has bought and continues to buy and puts it in the desert to rot because they cannot use now but if they don't spend(waste) the money they will lose it. This country would be better off with just ONE ARMED FORCE and ELIMINATE WASTE and DUPLICATION.

Funny, when a guy starts referring to himself in the third person... well, need I go on?
