Response to Banking term

The term "redlining" has been used to refer to discrimination (in mortgage lending or insurance, for example) against people because of who they are (discrimination against racial or ethnic minorities) or because of where they live (discrimination against people who are buying property in areas that are integrated or minority). Either way, it's illegal in the U.S., violating the Equal Credit Opportunity Act and the Fair Housing Act.
