Visit to Costco

Went to Costco yesterday, having convinced one of my neighbors to pick up a bag of rice and one of beans for himself, plus a couple of last minute preps for my family...parmesan cheese and batteries.

There were no 25 # bags of long grain rice. I went and found the guy on the forklift, and he found another pallet and brought it down for me. There were several bags of pinto beans, but as I was checking out the Mexican lady behind me asked where I found mine, and when we went to get her one, it was the last bag there.

My conclusion? A bunch of people must be out there reading about the Stock Market, because I have never seen empty pallets of rice or beans before!

S,

Your almost right, regarding the Stock Market, however, your conclusion is incomplete. Everyone is buying beans and rice 'cause that's gonna be the new "currency"!!!!

Also, these two items might give a new meaning to the musical term R & B. HAHAHAHA!!

P.S. My Costco has the Duraflame? firelogs in already, here in AZ., gots' to get me s'more.

GI Joe's in PNW, ran out of some items during "Y2K Sale"

Yeah, there is no way you could have just gone in there just before the shipment came in, and got the last of it.....totally impossible.

Gimme a friggin break. I do GI, but some of these posts get a little wacked at times.

Cory, what are you talking about? She asked for a fresh pallet of rice; she got the last of the beans. Sounds legit to me.

I've been watching a couple things at Costco in Federal Way, Wa. On Friday the 8th, I noticed they had a new shipment of those 15 gal. blue water barrels. There were about 25 or 30 of them placed just past where you come in the store. On check out I noticed that they also had about 16 pallets of them (4 across and 2 deep) behind an area where they display cars right across from the check out stands. On Monday the 11th, I had to go back in to get a prescription. All of the blue barrels were gone. I could not find one single barrel in the entire store. When I asked the check out guy, he said it seemed like every other cart coming thru over the week end had some of those barrels. Maybe there is hope yet that more people are preparing.

Oh, and the $4999 12kw generator they had? Gone in a week, and a new one in it's place on Fri. Also, the cheaper gens were moving like crazy. Friday, I stood and watched for about 10 min. while looking at the Christmas stuff - saw 4 of the cheaper sets go. Bet there is not a one in there today - unless they got more in since Fri. morning.

Just makes me feel more people are seeing the light and we few won't be so alone out there. One guy I talked to said, "Well, you when the government keeps saying everything is OK, you know they're hiding something."
