This is more of a question than a comment, but I was thinking that I AM is the name God gives, when he is asked his name by Moses. I don't know what exaclty this could mean. I know Bloom is connected to God the father, Stephen to the son and Molly to the Holy Spirit, but what does it mean that Bloom writes this down to Gerty? And does it have anything to do with the turnaround that seems to occur in Bloom in the following chapters, when he watches after Stephen and confronts Molly? Is he maybe at this point taking the responsibilities he thought he lost with Rudys death? I'm reading the book for the first time, so all this might be way off, I'm just trying to get a decent grip on it.
