I am hispanic and my spouse is white. The looks that we receive can be pretty hurtful. More times than not, it is from other hispanic people, who do not approve of marrying someone who is not hispanic. I have been told that I think I am "too good to marry a hispanic woman". Nothing I have experienced has been overwhelming. The greatest effect it has had has been to foster a genuine fear of what our children will have to face...
