Annulment

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

I am 20 and my parents have been divorced for 16 years. My mother remarried and my father just remarried two months ago. He wants to get an annullment with my mother. Does this mean that I would be illigitamate? If so, what exactly does that mean for me?

Response to Annullment

Hi Natalie,

No it would not. You are a child of God. You were conceived within a marriage union that at that time was assumed to be valid. If an Annulment would be granted it has nothing to do with you. I do not mean that it does not effect you as a person. I'm sure that it is very hard to deal with the divorce and re-"marriage" and now a new process called Annulment. Hang in there.

Response to Annullment

Natalie - I am in full agreement with the sentiments of Br. Rich as you were conceived in love with love and by love. No human law can ever take that away as it all came from Our Father. +Peace+
