I just bought a G4 450 with firewire, does that mean that all I need is NLE software or do I still need a video capture card?

If you have a camera with firewire, and it is approved for use on the G4, (check the Apple site), then you just need the software. As of today only Premiere 5.1c, works on the G4/450 with DV in/out, you also need to download the beta DV drivers from Adobe. It is still a little buggy in terms of viewing the signal out thru firewire to the monitor, it freezes frequently. Final Cut Pro version 1.2 will work when it comes out in a few wee
